Question of the Day
I was just remembering some of my favorite books as a kid, the Something Queer is Going On mysteries by Elizabeth Levy, about two friends named Jill & Gwen, and Jill's basset hound, Fletcher, who had markings in the shape of Africa. My very favorite was Something Queer is Going On at the Lemonade Stand.

Jen,
I remember those books. I remember the lemonade stand and the vacation one at the beach with the sandcastles. I still read children's lit. more than anything else. I've seen jobs at the library where they need people to pick and choose books in the children's lit. dept. Wouldn't that be fun? I loved the Little House serious, of course. I liked Wrinkle in Time. I lived on Nancy Drew for years. I Love the shoe books...Noel Streatfeild. The Thief of Always is fascinating. Chronicles of Narnia...Magician's Nephew is my favorite. I am also really fascinated by fairy books. "The Fairy Realm" has 9 books in the series so far. The Gold Dust Letters is really good....Janet Tylor Lisle...she's written a bunch of books and I've read them all, but Gold Dust is the best. I really liked Fairies of Nutfolk Wood...really good...Barb Bentler. I could go on and on, but those stick out in my mind the most right now. Thanks for the trip down memory lane :).
The 3 Investigators. I loved that whole series. I must have read the all of the books a dozen times. There was a book about two kids that ran away from home and hid out in a Museum. I loved that one too, I can see the cover but can't think of the name.
Of course there was the classics, Kidnapped, Treasure Island, etc.
You're thinking of the From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, by E.L. Konigsburg - that's one of my all-time favorites too :)
You're right! How about the Rats of N.I.M.H.? That was a great one too. Hey, I don't know if you read my blog or not, but I'd like your take on some stuff I've written. I'm working on something called Bible College Ruined Me!! (Almost).
I wonder if you would mind reading two small excerpts and giving me your take?
You can find the first one here:

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.
Thanks
